Dear Townsman Readers:

The following was given to me from one of our long-time Townsman volunteers, Helen Conrad, who was able to be with "the group" of Wednesday Volunteers this past week.  It was taken from the April 20, 2000 edition of The Townsman.

The excerpt was from the obituary notice of "Sarah Knight Hasbrouck...widow of  the late Theron W. Hasbrouck.  Together they were instrumental in the organization and early production of Grahamsville's newspaper.  For many years The Townsman was printed in the garage of the Hasbrouck home.  Mr. Hasbrouck ran the printer and Sarah wrote the Grahamsville news column, which was then very family and community oriented."

The Townsman roots are very deep indeed!  Not only is our Townsman a means of conveying what is happening in our community today, but it also is a chronicle of our community's history since 1947, and will serve as a journal of  our community for future generations.

Thank you for all your support and continued interest and thank you Helen for the article and for joining us again this past week.

Linda Comando
